Sequin Pants & The Weekly Style Edit Link Up

Happy Friday! I hope you had a fabulous Christmas, and that the holidays are treating you well! I feel like I've been saying this for weeks, but can you believe that in just a few days it will be a new year? 2016 definitely had its shares of ups and downs for me, but is ending on a really positive note and has me looking forward to what 2017 will bring. Last week for The Weekly Style Edit link up, Megan  and I both shared holiday inspired looks, and today I wanted to share another look that would be perfect for New Year's Eve. Although I am pretty much planning on ringing in the new year from the comfort of my own home, it's always fun to put a dressy outfit together! I have a feeling that I'll be wearing this for our first date night in 2017. This outfit is actually really easy to throw on and is totally #momlife approved ladies. I mean, it's basically an elevated version of leggings and an oversized sweater. Speaking of this sweater, I never thought I could pull off the cowl neck look, but considering how comfortable this one is, I'm not really sure I care if I pull it off or not (ha!). I've not only worn it with sequin leggings, but also with my favorite pair of dark denim and boots. The best part is it's only $21 and I've linked it below. Also, don't forget to link up your favorite style post with Megan and I for The Weekly Style Edit link up at the end of the post!

What are you planning on wearing for NYE? Do you have any special plans?

Lace Up Sweater & The Weekly Style Edit Link Up

Happy Friday everyone! It has been a week over here, but the bright side is that it's pretty much officially the week before Christmas now! Did you get all of your shopping done? As much as I think I'm on top of things, I somehow still need to order a few last minute gifts. Thank goodness for Amazon Prime! If you still new some gift ideas, be sure to check out my latest gift guides: for the new parentfor him under $100for her under $100, and for the host/hostess. Last week for The Weekly Style Edit link up I shared my casual and comfy holiday outfit, and today I wanted to share the most adorable lace up sweater from Cadorah. The weather here has actually been surprisingly warm, so it was nice to be able to show off the cute lace up details on this sweater without having to cover it up with a coat! I'm always a fan of 3/4 sleeve tops because long sleeves are almost always too short for me #tallgirlproblems. I decided to add a little pop of turquoise with my Kendra Scott earrings, and paired it with my absolute favorite pair of Sam Edelman ankle boots. Honestly, this is pretty much a version of an every day look for me! Be sure to link up your favorite looks with Megan and I for The Weekly Style Edit link up at the end of this post.

P.S. Have you entered the $500 Nordstrom gift card giveaway yet? If not, you don't want to miss out and there are only a few days left!

Remixing Your Basics & The Weekly Style Edit Link Up

TGIF! Does anyone else feel like it was difficult to get back into your normal routine of a full week after having such a long weekend? I know I did, plus I feel like it was so hard to focus now that I temporarily have Christmas on the brain! Last week we shared the best Black Fridays sales for The Weekly Style Edit link up, so of course I have to ask: did you do any Black Friday/Cyber Monday shopping? I think I did a little too much, but wound up getting a ton of people checked off my Christmas list. I may have also bought myself the gold sequin flats from my gift guide for her and I'm not kidding when I say you need them in your life! I shared a little sneak peek of them on Snapchat and my Insta-stories (@lindsayrutland) yesterday, so in case you missed them, I'll definitely be wearing them on here soon! I have a feeling they will be thrown into my rotation of basics, just like the striped tee and distressed jeans I'm wearing today. I wore this striped top on here a few weeks ago and probably wear it at least 1-2 times every week. You can never go wrong with a good striped tee, especially one that fits well and can be worn so many different ways. We already know that distressed jeans are my go-to's, so I won't ramble on too much about them. I will just say that they can be worn all year long! The best part about this outfit: it is totally #momlife approved! Be sure to join Megan from The Fashionista Momma and I for The Weekly Style Edit below and show us your favorite outfit from the week. We decided that instead of styling a specific piece each week for the link up, we would switch things up a bit and share any outfit we would like. We hope that you will join us and do the same!

What are some of the basics you love to remix in your wardrobe?

Hooded Maxi Cardigan c/o Sammydress (only $10!)
Leopard Scarf (old, cute option here for only $25)
Kendra Scott Bracelet c/o Popsugar Must Have
Karen Walker Sunglasses via Ditto (use code MIDDLEOFSOMEWHERE to get your first month free)
