Countdown to Spring

It's pretty crazy to think that it will officially be spring in a few weeks, and boy am I ready! This week has been really cold here in Albuquerque, although probably nothing compared to those of you who live on the East Coast. I am totally ready for warmer weather because along with rising temperatures comes bright nail polish, flats, and and lots of flowy lightweight pieces in my closet. I am looking forward to wearing maxi dresses again and am hoping to find some that will work both pre- and post-baby. To help me avoid thinking of the cold, I put together a list of some of my current favorites to help countdown to spring. Are there any items that you are craving for spring?

Two Exciting New Ways To Shop Online

Happy Monday... always sounds a bit ironic don't you think? I am hoping this week won't be as crazy as last week was! This upcoming weekend my in-law's are throwing us our first baby shower, so there is definitely something big to look forward to! Today I wanted to share a few new shopping sites with you all that I think you will love! A few months ago I was introduced to Glamhive, which is a fantastic way to post your favorite looks and earn rewards at the same time. Think of an #ootd only version of Instagram. It is similar to Like To Know It in that each photo post is shoppable, but rather than receiving emails with product links, you can shop directly from the Glamhive app or website. Here are some examples of how it works directly from the Glamhive app:

You can connect with Facebook or create a profile simply with your email address.

Post your photo and link exact or similar products from your choice of over 400 retailers

Your linked products can be shopped directly from the app or website. You will earn points when others make purchases from your linked items AND when you shop via Glamhive. Reward points can be cashed in for gift cards to a variety of retailers, including Amazon, Anthropologie, ASOS, JCrew, Nordstrom, Target, Zara, and many more! If you have any additional questions about Glamhive, please don't hesitate to ask. If you are as excited as I am about it, make sure to follow this link to get signed up and start shopping!

Another new shopping site that you may not have heard of yet is West Egg. With West Egg, all you need to have is an Instagram account to log in and start shopping. Once you're in, you can purchase designer products from retailers such as Kate Spade, Kendra Scott, Ray-Ban, Michael Kors, and Gorjana at up to 80% off retail price! Once you receive your product, West Egg asks that you take a photo modeling your new item and upload it to Instagram. This step is so easy because it's something that I'm sure 99% of us can't wait to share our newest purchase on our Instagram accounts, myself included. The only catch to ensuring you pay a discounted price is posting your photo on Instagram within 21 days of receiving your item and using the #becomethemodel. After searching through West Egg's product list I am totally eyeing the Gorjana Taner Bar necklace as my first purchase.

West Egg has been kind enough to offer Middle of Somewhere readers an additional 10% off your first purchase with the code WEARWESTEGG. So if you are eyeing that Gorjana necklace like I am or these gorgeous Kendra Scott 'Elle' Drop Earrings, I would run over to West Egg ASAP! You can snag the Kendra Scott earrings for less than $45! As I mentioned with Glamhive, please let me know if you have any questions about how West Egg works. I would also love to hear what your favorite item is that they carry and what is on your wishlist!

Instagram Lately

My best friend and I in our Pinterest inspired photo - we are exactly 11 weeks apart, so of course we had to document being pregnant at the same time!

TGIF!!! Although this week feels like it went by really fast, it was definitely a crazy one for me, hence the lack of blog posts. I am yet to really share much about my life outside of blogging, but I did start a new job this week which is why I have been a bit of a slacker. I try really hard to stick to my 3 times a week/Monday, Wednesday, Friday posting schedule but that was just not happening this week. 27 weeks pregnant and starting a new job... I know, I must be crazy right!? I know that it is just a short term adjustment and the end result will be worth it, but it did make for an exhausting week. I did try to keep active on Instagram as always, so here's a little recap for those of you who are not following along (and if you're not you totally should be - @lindsayrutland). I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Thank you to everyone who entered my necklace giveaway with Laura Elizabeth Jewelry! The winner will be chosen at random and announced on my Instagram later today!

Don't forget you can snag your first box FREE with the code LINDSAYXOXO1 with no obligation to sign up for future boxes if you don't want to

And finally... only the cutest dogs ever - Joanie and her brother/cousin, Pete, in their Valentine's picture!

A Little Boho and Ready for Spring

Up until yesterday, we have had the most beautiful weather in Albuquerque and it's been hard to believe that it's only February! I'm talking a temperature that has been reaching the 70's and needless to say this weather has me seriously craving spring. I am not a fan of cold weather and I could totally live in outfits like this - jeans, flats, and a nice flowy top. Target has recently stocked up on some of the cutest maternity clothes, including the top I am wearing today. In addition to spring I have totally been craving floppy hats and fedoras, so I was really excited to find this one at Target as well for less than $17! I have a feeling hats will become an even more essential part of my wardrobe once baby girl is born in May! Only 13 weeks to go!

Valentine's Day Maternity Style Part Two: Casual

I had so much fun collaborating with 6 other lovely expecting bloggers for Monday's How We Wore It post, but I'll be honest... this outfit is what I am actually going to be wearing on Valentine's Day. I am 26 weeks pregnant as of yesterday (which is so crazy to me!) and I always tend to opt for an outfit that I will be most comfortable in. I have had this Hello Apparel tee since my pre-pregnancy days and I even wore it in one of my first blog posts! I was so happy to discover that it still (barely) fits over my ever-growing bump. As always, I love to dress up a basic t-shirt and jeans with some statement jewelry. I know what you're probably thinking - is she going to talk about Rocksbox again? And the answer is: YES. I received these gorgeous Loren Hope earrings in my most recent box and can't get enough of them. They definitely make a statement without being too over the top, and I think the color is so perfect for Valentine's Day and beyond. Don't forget you can still try out your first Rocksbox 100% free with the code LINDSAYXOXO1. I've said it once and I'll say it again - it is totally worth a try because I know you'll fall in love with the service! If you decide to sign up for $19/month your membership will now include $10 to spend each month on your favorite piece from your box!

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day whether you'll be spending it with your significant other or a group of your closest friends! If you get a chance, make sure to follow along on Instagram (@lindsayrutland) for a chance to win one of two beautiful Laura Elizabeth necklaces!

Valentine's Day Beauty Favorites

Valentine's Day is upon us (only 4 more days!) and I am really looking forward to it. My husband and I have a tradition of making a fancy dinner at home instead of going out. I am not a fan of fighting crowds, and our meal is always much more personal and intimate at home. Plus we love cooking together, so it's a win-win situation. Today I thought I would share some of my favorite Valentine's Day inspired beauty products. I have taken quite a few blog photos for Valentine's Day, and wanted to include some items I have recently been using in my outfit posts. Some of the products I am sharing today are my personal favorites, while others are definitely on my wishlist of products I would like to try! Have you tried out any of the products I've listed? If so, what are your favorites?

1. Deborah Lippman 'Recipe for Love' Nailpolish Set - I have actually never tried any Deborah Lippman nail products, but thought this set was so perfect for spring!

2. Clairsonic Mia 3  - I own the Clairsonic Aria and really can't say enough positive things about it. I have always struggled with my skin (and being pregnant is definitely no exception), but I do love how clean and smooth my skin feels after using my Clairsonic.

3. Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment - Another great alternative to lipstick for day or any time!

4. NARS 'Super Orgasm' Blush - I have and love the original Orgasm blush, and would love to try out it's sister shade, which looks a little more on the pink than peach side.

5. MAC 'Candy Yum Yum' Lipstick - The most beautiful bright pink lipstick! It's definitely one of my favorites - I am even wearing it for my next blog post!

6. NARS Lipstick - My personal favorite is Heat Wave - it is the perfect orange-red shade!

7. Essie Nailpolish - My go-to brand for nail polish is always Essie. I find that it lasts the longest and always delivers an even beautiful coat. I have way too many favorite shades to choose from.

8. Philosophy 'Amazing Grace' Whipped Body Creme - This product is for sure on my wishlist! I love the smell of Amazing Grace, and love the idea of a whipped body creme versus a lotion.

9. butter LONDON Nail Lacquer - I love the consistency of Butter nail polishes, and they always seem to have the most unique color options.

10. MAC 'Mineralize' Skinfinish - Not a day goes by that I don't use one of the many MAC Skinfinishes that I own. They are the perfect highlighter to use on top of your favorite shade of blush.

11. Urban Decay 'Sheer Revolution' Lipstick - Another lipstick that is on my wishlist. Sometimes regular lipstick can be a bit heavy for me for day time, so I love the idea of a more tinted lip color.

Today I have teamed up with a gorgeous group of expecting bloggers for part one of a new series all about our maternity style. To kick it off for the month of February we decided to share our Valentine's Day maternity style. All of us are due around May, so we thought it would be fun to work together to share a monthly themed maternity style post. I absolutely love having the opportunity to work with other bloggers that I adore and I think it's so much fun that there are so many of us that are soon to be mom's! Jessica from Afternoon Style and I even have the same due date of May 21st! Winter Neutrals

TGIF!!! This week feels like it flew by, and I am totally ok with that. How has your week been so far? Today's outfit is all about neutrals, which feels like all I have been wearing lately. No matter what the weather is like outside, it always feels like a no brainer for me to throw on a t-shirt, ankle boots, and pair of jeans (I can't say enough good things about Old Navy maternity jeans). This outfit can easily transition into spring with a lighter weight cardigan, but for now I am really loving heavier weight knits. I absolutely love with this cardigan from Viva La Jewels, which is now on sale for under $40! You can also get an additional 10% off your order at Viva La Jewels with the code LINDSAYREP.

I also want to introduce you to a great online eco-friendly jewelry store, Laura Elizabeth Jewelry. If you are looking for the perfect statement piece, such as the Courtenay Cuff, or a unique layering piece, such as the Laura Necklace, you have to check out Laura Elizabeth's selection. Laura Elizabeth was kind enough to send me these two beautiful delicate layering necklaces to share with you all. If you know me or have been following along with Middle of Somewhere you know I am obsessed with layering delicate gold pieces. She also sent me a second set of both necklaces to gift to two lucky Middle of Somewhere readers. I am going to be giving them away on Instagram, so make sure to follow me @lindsayrutland for your chance to win later this weekend!

Midweek Pin-spiration

There is no shame in my game - I am Pinterest obsessed. If I am bored at home or work, 99% of the time you can find me on Instagram or pinning away on Pinterest. I love scrolling through other pins and finding random inspiration. I also have a weird obsessed with changing my cover picture (anyone else?) Pinterest is totally my go-to for recipes, decor ideas, and baby photo/clothing/nursery decor inspiration. Lately I have been having a major craving for muffins, which can explain my breakfast board. Today I wanted to share some of the recent pins I have been inspired by lately.

How GORGEOUS is this newborn photo? I'm sure that it's just a little obvious that I am excited to meet my baby girl in a few short months. And can we also talk about how beautiful this robe is?

In the words of Chandler Bing (anyone else binge watching Friends??), could these muffins BE any more delicious looking. As I am typing this post, the batch that I just made are cooking, and let me tell you that they smell heavenly. I also added some fresh cranberries since I was low on blueberries, so I am excited to test them out!

My sister is getting married in March and I have been searching around for some different hairstyles to try out. Since cutting my hair short I feel like the possibilities for updo's for short hair can be limited, but I love the idea of incorporating some kind of braid would be perfect. Any suggestions you may have on braided updo's (or half up) hair styles for short hair are totally welcome!

From now until May, I will constantly be on the hunt for maternity style inspiration. I absolutely love this casual look that can be worn from now until the spring.

I think my baby girl needs a white and gold teepee in her life. It may be a little difficult for me to justify spending well over $100 on one, so I also found a cool DIY option.

What are some of your favorite pins that you've stumbled upon recently? I would love for you to follow me along on Pinterest, and make sure you leave your Pinterest link in the comments so I can follow you! Also, be sure to check out Monday's post for a great giveaway from La Cle jewelry.
