Happy New Year + Giveaway!

image via: They All Hate Us

Today is the last day of 2014... that is so hard to believe! I feel like this year flew by, and I'm sure next year won't be any different. 2014 was actually a really great year for me, and it only seems fitting that on New Year's Eve I take some time to reflect on what a big year it was. First of all, I started Middle of Somewhere in May of this year. It's crazy to think that I have only been doing this for less than a year, and to reflect on just how much knowledge and support I have gained so far. I truly appreciate each and every one of you that takes time out of your day to read and follow this little blog of mine. This year was also huge because I am now a proud mom-to-be! I know that 2015 will be an even bigger year with a lot of life changes, and I hope that you all choose to continue following me on my journey! I hope you have a safe and happy New Year's and cheers to 2015! xoxo

I am so excited to be hosting a huge New Year's giveaway with some lovely bloggers! We have teamed up to give not one, not two, but THREE LUCKY winners some great prizes.

Winner #1 - $100 Nordstrom Gift Card
Winner #2 - $100 Victoria's Secret Gift Card
Winner #3 - $100 ASOS Gift Card

These are 3 of my favorite places to shop so what a better way then to start out 2015 than with a giveaway! Thank you for entering and good luck!

Bump Style: New Year's Eve

When the lovely Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood asked me to be a part of a special bump style collaboration post, I was so excited and couldn't pass up the opportunity. I am so honored that Ada asked me to be a part of this special group post, and I had a lot of fun putting together a NYE inspired outfit. I have been saving this Pink Blush Maternity top and couldn't quite figure out when I wanted to wear it. I then received an email from Ada and I knew it would be perfect for this post! Today I am joined by two other beautiful mom's to be: Katie of See What Katie Wears and Brooke of Pumps & Push Ups, so please make sure to head to their blogs to see the outfits they put together for this special occasion! Ada had asked us all a few questions, so I thought I would share them with you all regarding my thoughts so far on holiday style and how things have changed for me since I found out I was pregnant.

1. When are you due, boy or girl? I am due May 21, 2015 and we just found out on the 19th that we will be having a baby GIRL! I couldn't be more excited!

2. How has your style changed since becoming pregnant? My style actually has not really changed at all yet, except for the addition of maternity jeans/pants. My style is pretty casual to begin with, and I am having a lot of fun dressing my bump. I am still trying to wear most of my same tops and sweaters, which has worked out so far! They are a bit tighter now than they were pre-pregnancy, but I do like how they show off my bump more! I am slowly adding more and more maternity items, and am hoping that Santa brought me a few for Christmas.

3. What is something a woman must wear or have on during New Year's Eve and why? I am always a fan of three main things for New Years Eve - a sparkly manicure, a bold lipstick shade, and a piece of statement jewelry! You can really dress up any outfit with these two additions. Last year I wore a pair of black pants, black heels, and a cream/black top, which is generally a pretty basic outfit. By adding a fun DIY manicure, a red lip, and a stack of gold bracelets, I feel like I was able to dress up my outfit just enough for the occasion. These additions are also perfect for more dressed up attire, as well as a super casual night in with jeans and a sweater.

4. What are you looking forward to this NY Eve? Doing anything special? This year will actually be the first year in awhile that my husband and I plan to stay in. We usually love dressing up and going out with our friends for New Year's Eve, but this year feels so different to me. Considering that this will be our last NYE without a baby, I am looking forward to some quiet time, as well as cozy slippers and PJ pants if I am being totally honest. I hope that whatever you do, you have a safe and happy New Year's!

A huge thank you to Ada from Elegance and Mommyhood for making this post possible!

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Tonight is one of the best night's of the year - Christmas Eve. Ever since I was little, I have always looked forward to spending the evening with my family and engaging in all of our little Christmas Eve traditions. From enjoying a delicious seafood dinner to driving around looking at Christmas lights in our PJ's with a nice warm drink, Christmas Eve has always been my favorite part of Christmas. I think that this year feels even more special to me knowing that next year will be the first year that we get to share our special traditions and make new ones of our own with our baby girl. I had planned an outfit post for today, but instead decided I wanted to share our Christmas card from last year, which was the first Christmas we had with the first baby girl, Joanie. I hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas full of lots of laughter, love, and special memories with your loved ones! If you would like to share, I would love to hear what some of your favorite holiday traditions are! I will be back on Monday to share a special holiday collaboration post with a few fellow bloggers to share our New Year's Even inspired baby bump looks. Merry Christmas!!

Gender Reveal: It's A....

It's pretty unbelievable that Christmas is only three days away! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and here's to a short work week and lots of family time and fun in the week to come. I had one of the best weekends ever, and last Friday was definitely one of the most exciting days of my life. We were finally able to find out the sex of our baby, and were able to share the news with our families later in the evening. Since it's almost Christmas, which is my absolute FAVORITE time of year, and I am obsessed with the classic Rudolph movie, my husband had a great idea to incorporate the two into our gender reveal. We didn't want to do anything big, and it worked out being an intimate gathering of our parents, my sister, and her fiance. My husband had the cutest idea, and I am so glad it worked out perfectly. After our doctor appointment on Friday we went to Build-A-Bear and chose to get Rudolph if we were having a boy and Clarice if we were having a girl. Of course we had to wrap up the box and unwrap it before revealing it to our families. We found out the sex of the baby at our appointment because I just couldn't wait any longer!

IT'S A GIRL!!!! I had totally convinced myself we were having a boy at this point even though I had always hoped to have a girl first. Needless to say it was a very emotional (in a good way!) weekend. I feel like everything is so much more real now too knowing that we are going to have a daughter, and I truly could not be more excited!

Holiday Gift Guide: For Him Under $50

There are only 8 days left until Christmas... that seems crazy just typing that! If any of you are in the boat I am usually in, there are still some last minute gifts that you need to pick up. For me, some of the hardest people to shop for are the men in my life. I feel like I always gravitate toward the same items... books, music, golf and bar accessories. I felt like I needed to branch out my search a bit this year, and was surprised how many great items I was able to find all under $50! The best part about all of the items I am sharing today is that if you order now, you can still get every single one of these items in time for Christmas! Nordstrom is offering free shipping by Christmas Eve and you can get $5 flat-rate shipping on orders under $100 at JCrew Factory that is guaranteed to arrive in time if you order by Thursday (12/18). Old Navy and Gap both guarantee delivery by Christmas Eve if you order by 12/20. Happy shopping, and as always you can shop the post directly from the links or widget below.

Oversized Sweater + Giveaway to The Mint Julep Boutique

Another Monday... this weekend was so busy for me in preparation for Christmas, but we did get a lot done. We went and picked out our Christmas tree, which is always one of my favorite things to do this time of year. We get a fresh tree every year, and nothing compares! I am pretty excited for this week because on Friday we will get to find out the sex of our baby! I haven't figured out a cute way to announce on here yet, but I'm sure I will come up with something. Today I am sharing an outfit with one of the most cozy oversized sweaters from The Mint Julep Boutique. The Mint Julep is pretty much a one stop shop! For some reason I can never find a sweater that has a true oversized look on me until I tried this one. I sized up to accommodate my growing belly, and am so glad I did because I love the loose fit, especially when paired with leggings. I feel very Pinterest-y in this outfit. Thankfully I can still fit into my favorite faux leather leggings... not sure how much longer that will happen! If you're in need for a new sweater, vest, or even boots for winter, I would definitely recommend The Mint Julep Boutique. I also love following them on Instagram (@shopthemint) for sales and sneak peeks into new items.

Sharp Shreds Sweater c/o The Mint Julep Boutique
Simply Vera Vera Wang Ankle Boots (on sale for under $50)

In other exciting news, I also wanted to share with you all that I was recently featured on Deidre Emme's Fashion Fits Everyone. It was really wonderful to be able to write my take on body image and how it fits into blogging for me, and I would love for you to check it out. Enjoy your Monday and make sure to check out the Rafflecopter below.

Holiday Gift Guide: Time Pieces

10. Michael Kors 'Bradshaw' Chronograph Watch

If you have been a follower of my blog or Instagram you have probably seen me wear my beloved Michael Kors watch a time or two. Let's be honest, I would love to own other watches, but I find that my Bradshaw watch goes with pretty much everything I wear and I love its oversized look! Today I created a gift guide with the top 10 watches that I think would be on any ladies wishlist for Christmas and beyond. A watch makes the perfect gift, especially since there are so many styles to choose from, it can really feel like a personalized item. Many watch brands also allow for total customization, such as Michele watches, where you can pick out whatever face and band you like best. I also love the idea of a pre-owned watch for more expensive investment pieces, such as a vintage Rolex. I had never really heard of buying pre-owned watches until I was approached by Swiss Wrist to check out their products. Swiss Wrist offers both new and pre-owned Rolex watches for men and women. If I had to choose one that would be on my 'what I would buy if I won the lottery' wishlist, I would definitely choose the vintage two-toned men's Rolex watch. I am a sucker for men's watches and this one definitely reminds me of something that my grandpa would have worn. I'd love to hear from you - what is your favorite style of watch and what pieces are on your wishlist?

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Don't forget you only have a few days left to get your entries in to win a $25 e-gift card to Heirloom Finds. Check out my previous post for details.

Everyday Basics with Pink Blush Maternity

What you're looking at is pretty much my daily uniform for the fall/winter- dark denim, ankle boots, and a comfy top! I figured it would be best to stick to the basics over the weekend as I adjusted to my new shorter do! If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen that I decided to go to for the 'lob' cut last week, and I am so happy I did! But enough about my hair.... I have always been a huge fan of Pink Blush, and am even more so now that I have been exposed to their maternity line. Their clothing fits my casual chic aesthetic perfectly, and I love that their maternity tops can be worn with or without a bump. If you have never heard of Pink Blush, now is the time to shop. Pink Blush is currently offering 20% off storewide until the end of the day today (12/10). Not to worry if you're not pregnant, you can also shop the sale from their women's site, which I also love and has a lot of similar choices.

On a side note, have you ever heard of Rocksbox? I have been seeing the name all over Instagram lately thanks to some of my favorite bloggers, and was lucky enough to be given a chance to try them out recently. I am so in love with the Gorjana studs I am wearing today and have worn them pretty much every day since I received my first Rocksbox. The best part of this service is that for only $19 a month you get to try out 3 designer jewelry pieces, and can buy whatever pieces you love the most at a discounted price from Rocksbox. By following this link and using the code BEYOURBRIGHTEST you can try out your first month for only $9!

Holiday Attire + Giveaway to Heirloom Finds Jewelry

As it gets closer and closer to Christmas, I can't help but think of what I want to wear for the holidays. This year will definitely be a little different than previous years due to my newest baby bump accessory, but I am still excited... maybe even more excited than usual because hello maternity pants! I have a confession to make: these outfits photos today are actually from Thanksgiving, hence the non-existent looking bump. It is really insane what changes can happen in a week or two! I feel like all of the sudden my belly popped out last week and there's no hiding it anymore. I did want to save these pictures though so I could introduce you all to one of my new favorite online jewelry shops - Heirloom Finds. Holiday Gift Guide: Secret Santa Gifts Under $35

TGIF! This week seemed to fly by for me, and I am definitely not sad about that. Today I put together a gift guide for all of the ladies in your life, whether it be your mom, sister, BFF, or secret Santa. My friends and I usually do a secret Santa gift exchange, and this is the first year in awhile that we decided not to, so I was feeling a little out of the loop. We always set a price limit for our gift exchange and sometimes that can make gift giving difficult. I am always looking for great deals and quality items on a budget, so I found some of my favorite items that are all under $35! I can honestly say that I would put each and every one of these items on my own wishlist, except for the Baublebar Pearl 360 Studs because I already own (and LOVE) them. Hopefully this guide will help you discover some items you may be searching for. You can shop directly from the provided links or by scrolling through the widget below. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
